She Wouldn't "Run" the Senate, but She Could "Run For" the Senate . . .



Senator Stevens of Alaska is now a convicted felon.

He now could:

  • Withdraw from the election, or
  • Stay in, then:

    • Lose the election. (Democrat)
    • Win the Election, then, (Republican)

      • Exonerate himself, OR (Republican)
      • Be expelled by the Senate (Up for Grabs)

      Alaska law does not permit the Governor from appointing a "replacement" Senator. However, by either withdrawing from the election, OR by being expelled by the Senate, he could force a "special election" for the Senate seat.

      Any bets about Sarah Palin's name being on that ballot???
